Albergo Excelsior

Like at home. I was particularly positively surprised by the fact that first of all the booking made via email with subsequent telephone contacts and Whatsapp messages did not require the payment of any advance payment. Which was particularly welcome also because we had booked for the end of July but a week before we had to cancel due to health reasons. In September, however, we finally managed to stay in this really clean hotel, managed impeccably, with kindness, with a plentiful and truly excellent dinner, as well as breakfast. Location located in the center of the town, a stone's throw from the ski lifts which are obviously closed in summer, with a mouth-watering little shop selling typical and gastronomic souvenirs next to it. We were really very happy and if we were to return to Gambarie, we will absolutely not look anywhere else.

Danila was incredibly kind and helpful from the moment we booked over the phone. We stayed one night with two children; the welcome and kindness were outstanding. The room was spotless, and the food for dinner was excellent. Mr. Michele was very attentive, kind, and friendly. Danila was also fabulous in her presence. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend.

We stop with the desire for coffee and dessert. Once inside, the owner welcomes us and describes the vast variety of cakes. We taste three types: ricotta and orange, ricotta and chocolate chips and grandmother's cake, a coffee and a hot orange and cinnamon tea with notes of rose. All absolutely fantastic, a lovely relaxing break. The lady makes us feel at home, very kind and sweet. We will definitely return for dinner or lunch.

I went up to Gambarie with my wife and daughter. The hotel is just steps from the ski lifts, right in the square. Danila, her husband, and Namma Maria immediately made us feel at ease, welcoming us as if we were their family. Maria's cooking is incredibly versatile, considering we decided to dine there last minute. The only downside... I didn't get the recipe for spinach fritters. 😂😂 Highly recommended.

It's ridiculous that the Excelsior isn't listed among Gambarie's restaurants just because it's a hotel. It's a spectacle of elegance, quality, service, and cleanliness. I'm angry that they don't know how to advertise a place like this. It was an incredible surprise...almost Michelin-starred. All our guests, friends, and family, appreciated the quality of the food, the professionalism of the wait staff, the presentation of the dishes, almost haute cuisine, the homemade desserts worthy of the finest pastry chefs, and finally the price, absolutely almost trattoria-like... AND IT'S NOT LISTED ANYWHERE AS A RESTAURANT!!! If people found out, there wouldn't be anyone in Gambarie left.

A short but intense experience. We stayed with other friends for one day and had a wonderful time. They were hospitable, kind, and super helpful. A true family-run hotel. They made us feel at home. Granddaughter Danila and Mr. Michele were super attentive and always available for our every need. Thank you, we'll be back with great pleasure, and with more friends.

An exceptional establishment in the center of Gambarie. Highly recommended for those who want to savor the authentic flavors of traditional Aspromonte cuisine. We had a wonderful time; the courtesy, hospitality, and friendliness were excellent. Mrs. Elvira and her staff are wonderful and genuine people. Definitely worth a visit! Taste, tradition, and hospitality. Top!

A warm welcome and genuine hospitality. The dinner was excellent, as were the homemade desserts. There are a few tables outside for an aperitif. I arrived after a tiring day, and it immediately makes you feel relaxed. The place is truly worth a visit. See you soon.

A perfect place to relax and spend a weekend alone or with friends in a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere. The hotel is located right in Gambarie's main square, very close to hiking trails for those like me. And most importantly... the food is divine.

A wonderful weekend filled with good, traditional, and authentic cuisine. Clean, comfortable rooms with balconies overlooking the street. A cozy lounge in the lobby with a fireplace and billiards is a great place to while away the cold afternoons. Mr. Michele was super friendly and warmly welcoming. Highly recommended. I'll be back! 😍

The kindness and helpfulness of all the staff are a hallmark of this holiday. We're having a wonderful time and I highly recommend a stay here. The food is excellent and characteristic of the place, and the owners are meticulous about cleanliness, adhering to the standards required during this time. My overall rating is excellent.
